Flying each phase
| Phase | What to do |
|---|---|
| Load the shuttle | Memorize your crew code and punch it in. Then run up the launch tower, climb the ladders to grab the supplies, and ride the elevator up to the hatch before the timer runs out. |
| Launch | Tap IGNITE while the clock shows 5. After the tower, tap ROLL. Use the pitch stick to keep the needle in the green, ease the throttle down through the rough air (keep it under 3 g), then tap DROP BOOSTERS, ENGINES OFF and DROP TANK when they light up. |
| Orbit | Turn until the POINTING needle sits in the green, then burn when you reach the high point on the orbit map. It takes two burns. |
| Deploy | Fly the robot arm with the stick. Grab the satellite, lift it out of the bay and keep clear of the wings, then let it go. |
| Dock | The stick steers. Hold FORWARD to speed up and BACK to slow down. Keep the target in the middle circle and the closing speed in the green. Slow is smooth! Then tap the glowing spots on the spacewalk. |
| Deorbit | Spin around to fly tail-first, hold BURN until the landing marker reaches the runway pin, then let go and raise the nose for reentry. |
| Reentry | Stick up and down holds the nose angle: keep the needle in the green or the tiles overheat. Bank left and right for the S-turns to keep your energy in the right range and stay inside the corridor. |
| Landing | Keep the glide path lights at 2 red and 2 white. Ease back on the stick to flare, tap GEAR, touch down gently, tap CHUTE and hold BRAKE. |
Common questions
It's too hard. Can it be easier?
Turn on Training Help in Settings (it starts on). It widens the targets, adds tips and gently helps steer. If you miss a step twice, Commander Buck offers to fly that part for you.
It's too easy!
Turn Training Help off in Settings. Every mission is harder than the one before, and Mission 6 has the tightest targets of all.
Can I practice just one part?
Yes. On the mission screen, open Practice to fly any phase you've already reached.
What are strikes and continues?
Missing the launch window, entering the wrong crew code or loading too slowly is a strike. Three strikes and you're out, but you get three continues per mission, each with a fresh set of strikes.
I can't hear the voices.
Turn the volume up with the side buttons, and check that Voices is on in the game's Settings.
How do I pause?
Tap the II button. The game also pauses by itself when you leave the app.
Where is my progress saved?
On your device only. If you delete the app, your progress is deleted with it.
Does it need the internet?
No. The game plays completely offline.
Does the game collect any information?
No. There are no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking in the game. See the privacy policy.
